A Mighty Rushing Wind Brings Tongues of Flame and the First Sermon

The First Sermon in the Book of Acts:
Peter Preaches to the Disciples Before Pentecost

The events of the last days in Jerusalem, after the resurrection, had been so overwhelming for the apostles and other disciples of Jesus,  that some, not knowing what to do went back to fishing, some continued day to day bewildered, and all were astonished at the great truths which had been recently revealed.   Meeting for worship, before the Day of Pentecost though, the disciples were to hear Peter preach for at least the first recorded time after the resurrection of Jesus.  Pentecost was the harvest in the world, but the disciples, already believers, before Pentecost were to meet together for a wondrous event: the power and indwelling of the Holy Spirit, appearing as a 'mighty rushing wind', with tongues of flame marking the indwelling Christ, the hope of glory.   The meeting of the faithful was accompanied by Peter's fiery sermon on belief,  with a short explication of why the recent events had fallen out the precise way that they had.....more to follow.
